Garci Residence

The lay of the land made this a four story house, which left no way to walk a large triple pane slider up to the master patio. It went up by forklift.

The terracotta barrel tile roof and rounded ridge cap on, with the columns wrapped in plaster and the counter run in place down the right side.

A ground up gazebo built over an existing paver patio in Rancho San Diego, with a BBQ counter running the length of the covered area.

Love Addition

A 265 square foot master bedroom and bathroom added to the back of a Vista house, taken from bare dirt through footings, slab, framing and roof.

The finished entry from the walkway, stair run and porch both in frame.

National City Historic Patio

National City, CA18 photos

One of the posts holding up this front entry was hanging on by a thread. The whole entry came out and went back in from the concrete up, facing a new direction.

Seen from the lawn at the outside corner, where both stair runs meet and the louvered screen shows on the left face. The deck is still under protection paper, and the roof edge still shows underlayment above the fascia.

Deck & Pavilion

A ground-up deck and pavilion in Rancho Bernardo, built on its own pier footings, with a louvered screen wall and three lit steps wrapping two sides.

Woodridge Deck

A second story deck built from new footings on the back of a Carlsbad house, with a full stair run down to the patio underneath it.

The sheathed exterior in evening light, a framed window opening in the plywood and the new roof overhang running out past the wall.

Steel Beam & ADU

La Jolla, CA13 photos

A load-bearing wall came out of a historic La Jolla house and a steel beam was set to carry the roof. A new ADU was framed on the canyon side.

Outside, the new wall runs up past the clerestory to the roof line. Below it a full-glass door stands next to a narrower glazed panel.

Historic Garage Conversion

A historic San Diego garage taken down to its original frame and rebuilt as a tall finished room with a clerestory window and a new roof deck.

The whole rear elevation finished, furniture set out under the pergola.
