Escondido has the widest range of building stock in our service area, from small pre-war homes downtown to sprawling 1970s ranches to newer development on the edges. It also has our commercial work: we framed the Good Source Coffee build-out here in steel stud, and we have done exterior siding, window trim, and fence and turf work across town.

Inland Escondido runs hotter than the coast, which changes what a backyard structure needs to do. Shade matters more than shelter from rain, and a solid roof beats a lattice for most of the year. We will say so even when the lattice is the cheaper sell.

The older housing here also carries the usual inland issues: aluminum windows at the end of their life, additions that were built without permits at some point, and the occasional load-bearing wall that somebody already removed without a beam. We find that more often than you would think, and it is fixable.
