Custom Carpentry & Finish Work in San Diego County
Carpentry is the part of a house you touch. The stair rail under your hand, the casing your eye follows, the built-in that makes a room feel finished instead of furnished. It is also the part where shortcuts show up fastest, because a joint that is off by an eighth is invisible in a photograph and obvious in person. It is the trade this company grew out of, and we still measure the rest of our work against it.
01The Scope
The trade underneath everything else we build
Luke earned his Journeyman Carpenter card through Local 619 and his Fabrication Technician card through Local 47, which in practice means years of being measured against a standard set by people who had done it longer. That is the standard the work is held to. It is why a scribe lands tight against an out-of-plumb wall, and why a mitre still reads clean after a Santa Ana dries everything out.
The work runs from architectural millwork and built-in cabinetry to stair parts, wainscoting, crown, baseboard, door and window casing, mantels, and timber work. Interior or exterior. We work in oak, walnut, cedar, redwood, and fir, and we will tell you which one is wrong for your application before you pay for it.
On outdoor structures the same standard applies where nobody expects it: tongue-and-groove ceilings with tight seams, post wraps that are square to the world, exposed trusses cut on site instead of ordered in, and hardware that is doing structural work rather than decoration.

03Timeline
Built-ins and trim packages usually run one to three weeks on site. Custom millwork that has to be fabricated adds lead time up front, and we order it before demo rather than after.
04Typical Investment
Species and complexity set the price. Paint-grade poplar trim and clear white oak millwork are not the same job, and a curved or scribed run costs more than a straight one because it takes longer to make it look effortless. We quote carpentry as its own line so you can see it.
