01The Scope
Why installation matters more than the brand
Almost every door and window failure we get called out to is an installation failure rather than a product failure. The opening was not square, the sill was not sloped, the flashing was lapped the wrong way, or the unit was shimmed to close rather than shimmed to plumb. None of that shows on day one. All of it shows by the second rainy season.
We measure the actual opening rather than the drawing, pull the old unit, and inspect what is behind it. On coastal homes there is often rot in the sill or the king studs, and we repair that before the new unit goes in rather than trapping it. Then we set the unit plumb, level, and square, flash and pan it properly, foam and seal the perimeter, and finish the interior casing and exterior trim so it reads as original.
The work covers multi-slide and bi-fold systems, french and entry doors, sliders, single-window replacements, and full-house retrofits, plus the header and framing work when an opening is getting bigger than it was.

03Timeline
A single door or window is usually one to two days. A full-house retrofit runs one to two weeks. Multi-slide systems have real lead times from the manufacturer, so we order first and demo second.
04Typical Investment
The unit is most of the cost on a straightforward swap. What moves the number is structural: widening an opening needs a new header and sometimes engineering, and rot found behind the old unit has to be repaired before anything new goes in. We tell you what we find with photographs before we price it.
